Someone who just wants a person
A caller asks for a human; the receptionist says who it is, does not argue, and connects the front desk.
Scripted example from the test suite the receptionist is checked with, using its real lines. The caller, the names and the numbers are invented; the practice is the sample practice.
The call.
- Receptionist
Thanks for calling Cedar Clinic. I'm the practice's AI assistant. I can book a new visit, move or confirm an appointment, take a refill or records request, answer questions about the office, or get you to a person. What would you like to do?
- Caller
Is this a real person? I'd rather talk to a real person.
- Receptionist
No, I'm the practice's AI assistant. Of course. One moment while I connect you to the front desk.
- Caller
Thanks.
- Receptionist
Connecting you now.
What the practice saw.
- Warm transfer to the front-desk line at 10:15 a.m.; the desk answered on the second ring.
- If nobody had answered within 30 seconds, the receptionist would have offered a callback and left a task with the caller's number.
- The call is counted as handled: 35 seconds, 12 cents.
